What are the embedding steps of the tissue embedding center?
Dehydration: Tissue specimens are dehydrated by passing them through a series of alcohol solutions to remove water.
Clearing: The dehydrated tissues are cleared using a substance like xylene to remove the alcohol and enhance transparency.
Infiltration: Tissues are impregnated with molten paraffin wax in the embedding center. This step provides support and allows for the creation of thin, uniform sections.
Embedding: The infiltrated tissues are placed into molds, filled with molten wax, and allowed to solidify. This results in tissue blocks embedded in paraffin wax.
Once the tissue embedding process is complete, the tissue blocks can be sectioned using a microtome, and the resulting thin sections are mounted on slides for staining and microscopic examination. The tissue embedding system plays a crucial role in preserving tissue structure and facilitating the preparation of thin, consistent sections for diagnostic and research purposes.
